Erdogan unveils gargantuan refugee resettlement plan

Turkish president Recep Tayyip Erdogan returned from his meetings at UN Assembly even more determined to carve out a safe zone for Turkey at the Syrian border, to the East of Euphrates River. He reminded journalists that Turkey is poised to enter Syria a third time, if his proposal for a safe zone is rejected or delayed by US and is Kurdish-led Syrian ally SDF, or YPG-PYD. While many analysts opine Erdogan is bluffing with his threat to send the military into Syria to get what he wants, the president’s well-thought out refugee resettlement plan in the territories Turkey proposes to control suggests he may be serious.
