Police Prevent CHP’s Sit-in Protest of State of Emergency

CHP finally began street protests, as many of the rank-and-file demanded, against State of   Emergency and the violations   of rule of law. Pictures from Istanbul indicate moderate crowds. Will CHP  continue to use “the power of the street?” We don’t know, but if it does, AKP will have to choose between tolerating a new wave of mass dissent or police using excessive force.
